Grimani Systems CEDIA 2018 Show Report

We recently reported on how PMI renovated the Mix room at Therapy Studios in record time, and we've just completed engineering and acoustical tuning installation in their Production room. For that space we installed a ZSound™ Trio system. According to executive producer Joe DiSanto, "With the expert engineering and project management from PMI, and the innovative acoustical solutions from MSR, we now have two rooms that sound better than we could have imagined, allowing us to create highest quality productions for our discerning clientele. Therapy Studios is a busy post-production house in West Los Angeles. With a big feature film project in the works, they realized it was important to improve their main sound room. Initially, they thought they just needed some acoustical tuning materials. After contacting PMI and meeting with Anthony Grimani, they learned the room needed complete renovation - and talk about "asap" they needed it done in less than a week!  The main problem was sound isolation – the room had essentially no isolation on the right wall and the ceiling so sounds from adjacent spaces were seeping into the studio. Moving at warp speed, PMI engineered the space, contracted the building and installation, specified and secured the gear, and actually got the whole project completed in four days from start to finish. PMI designed and engineered a practice and recording studio in a luxury home in Northern California. The dedicated space inside the home needed complete sound isolation so the client could play, practice and record music without sound leaking into the rest of the house. PMI specified suspended walls, a sound door, and a range of acoustical panels and treatments to make the room sound great for its many uses. The plan drawing below shows one of the walls where we specified SõN™ Acoustic System Modules by MSR Acoustics - and to the right of that is the finished space showing the same wall in its final state, complete with Pete Townshend decorated acoustically transparent curtain using the high-quality printing process from the Salon Acoustics ™ line of decorative acoustical panels.
